WELCOME to the 2017 - 2018 New School Year!

My name is Ms. Brown and I teach 6th grade course 1 math and the Animal Care and Welfare Lifeskill course at Wood Middle School.  I am happy to return to Wood this year and look forward to meeting and getting to know all of my new students!  This will be the start of my 24th year in education.  My picture is "all ears", because I want to hear from you - Parents, Guardians, Students and Families.   Teaching and learning is largely about communication.  So, if you have a question, concern, suggestion or are just wondering about something, please send me an email through this School Loop site or email me through our District at:

kbrown@alameda.k12.ca.us.  Let's stay in touch!

I am 100% dedicated to providing and delivering a top notch math education to your child.  My teaching style is inclusive, rigorous, fun and strategic.  I use many modalities and strongly incorporate the multiple intelligences.   My experience has shown me that everyone learns differently and we as educators have to use as many ways to reach kids as possible.

Looking forward to meeting all of youDuring the first week of school kids will be bringing home a syllabus along with a letter to parents that needs to be signed and returned to me.  Please take a few minutes to read over the syllabus with your child!

Looking forward to meeting all of you very soon!

Best,

Ms. Kasey Brown
