This Week's Updates

AUSD Surveys

Want to give your feedback on AUSD matters? Please take a few minutes to complete these important surveys – AUSD needs to hear from you soon!

Superintendent Search Survey (to tell us what qualities you think the next superintendent should have. Open until April 20.)
Communications Survey (to let us know what kind of communication tools you’d like us to use)
California School Parent Survey (CSPS) Open until April 19.

The CSPS is designed to provide teachers, administrators, and other school staff with information directly from parents that can be used to foster positive learning and teaching environments, parent involvement, and student achievement, health, and well-being. The act of asking parents to provide their perceptions of the school is in itself an empowering parent-involvement activity. Check the AUSD survey page then pick from the list of schools on the right. You can complete surveys for all of your children enrolled in AUSD schools.

7th Grade Dine & Donate - Otaez

Support this 7th grade fundraiser while enjoying lunch or dinner at Otaez!

When: Wednesday, April 24; 12-2 pm for lunch; 4-8 pm for dinner

Where: Otaez Restaurant, 1619 Webster Street

You don’t need a flier – just tell your server you’re supporting Wood Middle School!

Cocktails with Cammie, April 26

Instead of our usual Coffee with Cammie, PTA will host Cocktails (or maybe a margarita!) with Cammie next Friday, April 26, 5-7 pm at Otaez Restaurant.

We’ll have a table and some appetizers – you can purchase your favorite drink – and we hope to see you there!

Challenge Day Assembly, April 29

Challenge Day is coming back to Wood! Following last year’s successful event, Ms Harris and her wonderful team have scheduled a Challenge Day assembly for all students on Monday, April 29.

Challenge Day is a national anti-bullying organization that builds compassion and promotes positive feelings in school. Students and adults participate in activities and discussions that allow them to recognize stereotypes and labels that exist among them, how they affect people and how as a whole they can share and connect as human beings. Challenge Day examines the impact that bullying, oppression and other forms of violence have on the participants’ lives and the lives of people around them. Students and adults are provided with the tools to break down walls of separation and isolation, replacing them with compassion and empathy.

AEF Salute to Education, May 3
